A dental emergency can be alarming and disorienting. Knowing what immediate steps to take within the first 60 minutes can mean the difference between saving or permanently losing a natural tooth. At SLVR Dental in Tirupati, our team is on-call 24 hours a day to handle acute trauma and severe pain.

How to Handle Common Dental Emergencies:

1. Knocked-Out Permanent Tooth (Avulsion)

  1. Pick up the tooth ONLY by the white crown. Never touch or scrub the root surface!
  2. If dirty, gently rinse it with cold milk or saline for 5 seconds.
  3. If possible, gently place the tooth back into its socket and bite softly on a clean cloth.
  4. If you cannot re-insert it, submerge the tooth in a small cup of cold milk or saline.
  5. Rush to SLVR Dental within 60 minutes! Re-implantation success drops significantly after one hour.

2. Unbearable Nocturnal Toothache

Rinse thoroughly with warm salt water to flush trapped food debris. Take an over-the-counter analgesic (such as paracetamol or ibuprofen). Never place aspirin directly on gum tissue, as this causes chemical acid burns. Call our 24/7 hotline at 073823 02125.

3. Broken or Chipped Front Tooth

Collect any fractured tooth pieces and keep them in saline or milk. Rinse your mouth with warm water, apply gentle pressure with sterile gauze if bleeding, and apply an ice compress to the outer lip to limit swelling.

4. Rapid Facial Swelling or Dental Abscess

Swelling under the eye or beneath the jaw indicates a spreading bacterial infection from an untreated root canal. This is a medical emergency. Do not apply hot compresses. Reach our clinic operatory immediately for drainage and antibiotic therapy.
